In keeping with the requirements of the changed ICSE English Literature syllabus for 2023- 24, Mindsprings is happy to launch a course on teaching Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, with Usha Pandit for teachers, HODs, and tutors.
We have completed 1 live workshop on Zoom so far, attended by over 100 teachers from various top schools such as Bombay Scottish (Mumbai), The Shri Ram School (Gurgaon), Jasudben M L School (Mumbai), The British Co-Ed High School (Patiala), CP Goenka (Thane), Avalon Heights (Navi Mumbai), Euro School (Pune), Pawar Public (Mumbai), SSRVM (Mumbai), The Green Acres Academy (Mumbai) etc. We are now offering the same sessions online for those who want to do it at their own pace and time.
Teaching Julius Caesar successfully in the classroom depends on the teacher understanding the context, themes, idioms, symbols, allusions and imagery in the Shakespearean play. This course will help you get a deep appreciation and understanding of all these aspects.
In addition, in the course, you will learn how to plan engaging classroom activities, that will keep the children engrossed in the play and stimulate their learning.
The course will also help you make thematic links to contemporary times to make the play relevant to students studying it now.
In each session, there will be time for discussion and clarifying doubts.
Who will benefit from this workshop?
HODs, teachers, and tutors.
